LLC00LJ - Radio [The Samples]

Though I was too young to hear this one when it came out, a few of my friends in their 30's have mentioned to me in the past that this was the equivalent of a soundtrack during their teens (and then I burnt a copy onto CD because one of them still only had the tape). LL's debut to the world, Radio was the product of a brand new record label called Def Jam (you may have heard of it by now, heh), masterminded by Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons. Radio was released in 1985 and is widely considered to be one of the greatest and most influential hip hop albums of all time. The album has since been included in several best-of lists by publications like Rolling Stone Magazine and The Source.

And here are the samples! Due to Rick Rubin's sparse production style at the time, Radio didn't have too many samples. But the ones we've got right here should hit you suddenly if you're very well familiar with Radio. Luckily, the track that may just be considered the best on the album ('Rock the Bells', a classic) has a total of three samples, all of which should be easily recognizable. Hope you enjoy this one!
